NOV. 8: Physicians, practice managers, medical assistants and medical billers and coders across eastern North Carolina are invited to attend a continuing education event in Greenville offered by Eastern Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Charlotte AHEC. Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs) for Coders: An In-Depth Look will be held in person in Charlotte and broadcast to remote sites across the state including Eastern AHEC from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is available through Charlotte AHEC for all sites at www.charlotteahec.org. NOV. 15: Eastern Area Health Education Center is hosting a continuing education program for mental health professionals called Clinical Supervision for Intermediate and Advanced Supervisors. This program will help social workers, psychologists, counselors and others become better supervisors of other professionals in a clinical setting. For more information, visit www.easternahec.net.

NOV. 30: Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses across eastern North Carolina are invited to the second annual Celebration of Rural Nursing at multiple sites across the state including Greenville. Topics at the Greenville site include dementia-friendly hospitals and communities, human trafficking, and laughter yoga. The Greenville program will be at Eastern AHEC at 2600 W. Arlington Blvd. Registration is online only at www.easternahec.net.

DEC. 4: Health care professionals of all disciplines are invited to two new continuing education programs on Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) offered by Eastern Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Mountain AHEC. One is for prescribers and one is for all other health care team members. Both programs are a half-day in the morning and will be held concurrently at Eastern AHEC in Greenville. Registration is available through Mountain AHEC at www.mahec.net.
