Henry Hostetler, owner and manager of Baywood Racquet Club in Winterville, is bound for the The North Carolina Tennis Foundation Hall of Fame.

Hostetler, Tarboro native Bea Burnette and former N.C. State standout Matt McDonald will be inducted Jan. 26 at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club. 

Hostetler has been a leader for many tennis programs on the state and local level. The former East Carolina player served as president of the North Carolina Tennis Association (2004-06) and the N.C. Tennis Foundation (2007-08).

His effort has been recognized through multiple USTA North Carolina awards, including earning Carlton Harris tennis professional of the year, the Mary Milam achievement award and the John and Dottie Peddycord president’s award.

Hostetler was born in Raeford. He was ECU’s team captain in 1977.
