Homecoming kicks off today with concert downtown
Sunday, October 20, 2019
The City of Greenville is helping East Carolina University kick off 2019 Homecoming Week today by shutting down part of the Uptown District.
Cotanche Street will be closed at its intersection with Fourth Street and Fifth Street will close between Evans and Reade streets to install a temporary stage for a concert featuring performers B.O.B and JoJo at the intersection of Fifth and Cotanche.
The free show is set for 3 p.m. and is open to ECU students, faculty, staff and alumni. The National Weather Service predicted rain was likely Sunday but could be diminishing after 2 p.m.
The stage for the event will be positioned along Fifth Street facing west toward Evans Street. City crews will close the street beginning at 4 a.m. today. The roadways will remain closed until the area is cleaned after the event.
