Today 

Food pantry

Sycamore Chapel Baptist Church, 1610 Farmville Blvd., will host a food pantry from 8-10 a.m. Participants will receive a box of food. This food pantry is open every second and fourth Thursday. For more information, contact Debra Watson, co-pastor, 252-758-7110.

Food distribution

The Armor of God Christian Church of Winterville will host a food distribution from 8-10 a.m on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2648 Mill St., Winterville. The church distributes food to the community every Thursday and Saturday at this time and location. Call 689-6590 for more information.

Senior drop-in

Winterville Parks and Recreation hosts its golden-age senior drop in program from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Winterville Operations Center, 2936 Church St., Winterville, featuring bridge, bingo, puzzles, cards, aerobics and Zumba. This event is free. For more information, call 756-1487.

Market on the Square

Winterville’s Market on the Square will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursdays at the corner of Main and Church streets. The event includes entertainment along with sales of fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts and baked goods. For more information, call 252-215-2360.

Stroke Support Network

The Stroke Support Network will meet from 6-8 p.m. at the Vidant Medical Center Rehabilitation Center Classroom, 2100 Stantonsburg Road. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month. Contact Jordan Sheets at 847-0571 for more details.

Toastmasters

The Greenville Toastmasters Club will meet from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Edwin W. Monroe Conference Center, 2000 Venture Tower Drive. The club meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Nar-Anon family support

The Nar-Anon family support group meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in Room 204 of the main building at Covenant Church, 4025 Corey Road, Winterville. The group’s leader may be contacted at 919-880-0473. Nar-Anon would like to remind families that the use of addicting drugs is on the rise. More information about help for anyone struggling with a drug addiction is available at 1-800-431-1754. Call for a free brochure on the signs of addiction. Nar-Anon also offers free screenings and referrals.

PFLAG

Greenville PFLAG, a local group in support of gender and sexual minorities, will meet from 7-9 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 131 Oakmont Drive. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month. The first hour focuses on education and advocacy; the second hour is for a support group. Parents, friends, family, allies and LGBTQ individuals are all welcome. For more information contact info@greenvillepflag.org.

Barks and Brews 

The Humane Society of Eastern North Carolina will receive 25% of supporters' purchases from 5-8 p.m. Friday at The Uptown Brewing Company, 418 Evans St. Leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor area in front of the Brewing Company, but are not allowed inside.

Fort Building 

River Park North will sponsor a fort building playtime for children from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at River Park North, 1000 Mumford Rd. Participants will be able to practice the art and science of fort building in a supervised manner at the park with the help of park staff. Insect repellent is highly recommended. The fee is $3 for Greenville residents and $5 for non-residents. For more information, call 252-329-4560.

Health Fair 

A health fair sponsored by AMEXCAN featuring free screenings and health services will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Town Common, 105 E.
