The Leroy James G-Circle Farmers' Market will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays from June to September at 203 Government Circle, between the Pitt County Health Department and the Human Services Center. Payment accepted at the market includes EBT/SNAP, 2019 WIC and Senior vouchers, debit or credit and cash.
The Newcomer’s Club of Greenville will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Holiday Inn, 203 Greenville Blvd. Lunch is $17 payable at the door. Reservations are requested and should be made before June 9 by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. New officers will be installed at this meeting, which will be the last before summer break.
An Umbrella Market event sponsored by Uptown Greenville will be held from 5-8 p.m. at Five Points Plaza, at the corner of West Fifth Street and Evans. This open-aired market will feature live music, frehs produce, seafood, artisan cheese, handmade arts, jewelry, antiques, local brew and more. Parkers Chapel Baptist Church, 2241 Old Pactolus Road, hosts GriefShare 6:30-8 p.m. each Wednesday through June 19. GriefShare is a grief recovery support group. Anyone who is experiencing grief can attend the program on any or all Wednesdays. For more information, contact the church at 752-4179.
The Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Family Foundation will sponsor a workshop focused on fundraising and development from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Covenant Church, 4015 Corey Road in Winterville. The workshop will address topics such as biblical approaches to fundraising, transformational giving philosophy and financial accountability for nonprofits. This event will feature a pre-event assessment and a dinner. Council on Aging events
■ Greenville Utilities will offer a presentation titled “Summer Time Energy Saving Tips” from 2-3 p.m. Thursday at the Council on Aging, 4551 County Home Road. The presentation will teach participants how to save money on energy this summer. Registration is required at 252-752-1717, ext 201.
■ The Council on Aging Road to Resources program will be held from 3-4 p.m. June 17 at the Pitt County Senior Center, 4551 County Home Road. The speaker will be Teresa Ball from Pitt County Veteran Services, who will present information of veteran benefits. Register for this free event at 252-752-1717, ext. 201.
A Community Garden workday will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 209 Stancill Drive, near the Greenway. Activities at this event will include harvesting potatoes and garlic, weeding and planting a pumpkin patch. Fresh produce is donated to the First Born Community Center in Grimesland. Ice cream social
An ice cream social for fathers and daughters will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 1095 Allen Road. Fathers, grandfathers and uncles are welcome to bring their relatives to this free event. RSVP by June 12 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Farmville Senior Council
The Farmville Senior Council’s June trip will be to The Country Doctor Museum in Bailey, departing at 10 a.m. on June 19th from the Community Center, 3886 S. Main St. in Farmville. The cost is $6.41 for the museum ticket and attendees should also bring money for lunch. There is limited space for this event, so call 252-714-5930 or 252-558-7788 to register by June 17th.
