A Greenville man charged with driving while impaired ran a stop sign, drove through a woodline  and crashed into a tree, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.

Daniel Adelaido Perez, of 3048 Elks Road, Greenville was stopped at 10:42 p.m. on June 1 near Frankie Coburn Road and Rams Horn Road by the State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, Perez’s 2011 Chevrolet truck was traveling south on Frankie Coburn Road at 70 mph when he failed to stop for a stop sign.  His vehicle then ran off the road straight into a wooded lot and then through an open lot before crashing into a tree.  

At the time of impact, Perez was going 35 mph.  

Perez’s truck sustained $10,000 in estimated damages.  

He was not injured in the crash.   

Perez was charged with driving while impaired, driving without a license, and reckless driving. His blood alcohol level was 0.11.  

Three other people also were charged with driving while impaired, according to court records and law enforcement reports available between and May 26 and June 2. In other cases, court documents indicate:

■ Alejandro Ramos Mancera, 25, of 2564 Stokes Road, Greenville, was stopped at 12:45 a.m. on June 1 near Davenport Farm Road by the State Highway Patrol. Mancera also crossed the center line and was seen weaving. He had red, glassy eyes, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and was slow in his responses. He also had an open beer bottle on the back floorboard of his vehicle. His blood alcohol level was 0.10.

■ James Earl Middleton, 50, of 2074 Fire Tower Road, Greenville, was stopped at 2:30 a.m. on May 29 near East Fifth Street and Beech Street by the Greenville Police Department. He also was charged with child abuse for having a child in the back seat. He was traveling at a high rate of speed, had an open container of alcohol in the car and admitted to drinking. He had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and his speech was slurred.  His blood alcohol level was 0.20. 

■ John Ivey Tatum, 63, of 3921 Charles Blvd., Greenville, was stopped at 2:30 a.m. on May 28 near N.C. 43 and East Fire Tower Road by The Greenville Police Department. He was found passed out at an intersection.  He also was unsteady on his feet, had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and slurred speech. He refused a breathalyzer test.
