Man charged with DWI observed driving on two rims

A Grifton man charged with driving while impaired wrecked his vehicle and drove on two rims, according to Pitt County Court records.
Richard Norman Greene III, 25, of 4714 Chapman Drive, Grifton, was stopped at 2:30 a.m.on May 18 near South Highland Boulevard by the Grifton Police Department.
According to the report, Greene’s vehicle had obvious signs of damage and Greene was driving around on two rims. He also had red, glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.12.
Seven other people also were charged with driving while impaired, according to court records and law enforcement reports available between and May 5 and May 19 In other cases, court documents indicate:
■ Sonica Barranco, 42, of 5721 Dempsey St., Charleston, S.C., was stopped at 1:27 a.m. on N.C. 11 and Airport Road by the State Highway Patrol. She had red, glassy eyes, a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet. Her blood alcohol level was 0.17
■ Michiel Anthony Carpenter, 57, of 865 N.C. 102 East, Ayden, was stopped at 11:05 p.m.on May 17 near N.C. 11 and Davenport Farm Road by The Winterville Police Department. He had an odor of alcohol on his breath and admitted to drinking. His blood alcohol level was 0.11.
■ Laymon Wayne Davis, 65, of 590 Brick Kitchen Road, Hookerton, was stopped at 2:52 a.m. on May 7 near N.C. 11 and Main Street by the Winterville Police Department. He had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. His blood alcohol level was 0.12.
■ Timothy Marie Dawes, 41, of 1071 Everettes Road, Williamston, was stopped at 2:22 a.m. on May 13 near Cross Winds Street and Moye Boulevard by The Greenville Police Department. He had red, glassy eyes and slurred speech. He refused a breathalyzer.
■ James Javon Edwards, 20, of 324 Haven Drive, Greenville, was stopped at 2:45 a.m. on May 16 near Arlington Boulevard and U.S. 264 by the Greenville Police Department. He fell asleep at an intersection and admitted to smoking marijuana. His blood alcohol level was unavailable.
■ Najionia Sharmine Hall, 20, of 219 North West St., Ahoskie, was stopped at 12:01 a.m. on May 18 near U.S. 13 by the State Highway Patrol. She had a blank stare, slurred speech, and an odor of alcohol coming from her breath. She refused a breathalyzer test.
■ Jason Kyle Jones, 37, of 5411 N.C. 11 N., Grifton, was stopped at 2:12 a.m. on May 5 near N.C. 102 and N.C. 11 by the Ayden Police Department. He had red, glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady on his feet. His blood alcohol level was 0.17.
