FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- Blake Tiberi hit a run-scoring fielder’s choice in the sixth inning, leading the St. Lucie Mets to a 7-4 win over the Fort Myers Miracle in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

The fielder’s choice, part of a three-run inning, gave the Mets a 5-4 lead before Manny Rodriguez hit an RBI double later in the inning.

The Mets tacked on another run in the seventh when Wagner Lagrange hit a solo home run.

Starter Jaison Vilera (2-0) got the win while Melvi Acosta (6-4) took the loss in relief in the Florida State League game.

St. Lucie improved to 7-3 against Fort Myers this season.
