Orange-hued Christian defense

Sunday, October 7, 2018

Again, I read another sobbing by Trumper Vic Corey as he Bible-thumps for Kavanaugh, who proves to be the whiney, arrogant, self-important high school boy he still is.

Corey complains Ford received help from Democratic lawyers, yet fails to mention Kavanaugh was rehearsed by team-Trump for days. As for Kavanaugh’s “good name,” The American Bar Association, which recently pulled its support of Kavanaugh, downgraded his rating in 2006 for suspect behavior.

Last week, amid the well-timed tears and mutterings about loving beer and football, America heard Kavanaugh lie about the wording on his calendar. In high school, I knew what FFFF meant and what “boofing” was. But Corey, in his continued fight to make certain Trump is seen as a shining example of the new-style Christian, has shown that for the GOP nothing matters anymore. “Let the mocking, grabbing Trump be Trump and let the unhinged Kavanaugh be the naughty drunk boy just doing what guys who rape girls do.”

Ford should have spoken up then, right, Vic? Men are in danger of having to answer for something they did in the past, right, Vic? Please remind your child of that if he or she comes to you in the future about something that was traumatizing years ago.

Let’s take the red, white and blue and dip it in Russian-tainted orange and wrap it around the Bible. After all, according to Vic, God personally anointed the most corrupt, arrogant, incestuous, lying fool in American history.

We have to stop the evil, godless Democrats, right, Vic? Thank God, we have Trump and the new DTV of the Bible to help us understand that women need go back to the kitchen and the bedroom … shut up and open up. I’m disgusted by Trump, by Kavanaugh, and by you, Vic. Go pray.

Dr. Gregory F. Murphy has done a great job during his first term as a representative for N.C. House District 9, and I am supporting his re-election. As a citizen of the City of Greenville and County of Pitt, I am a witness to how he communicates with people and his immediate responses to their…

This November's election will have significant consequences for both voters and nonvoters. While many voters have focused on national and state issues, local races are often overlooked, but they have serious consequences as well.

Pitt County voters will elect a District Court judge who will preside…

Eastern North Carolina has experienced three “100-Year” floods in less than 20 years. As I write this, another hurricane is on its way to the Florida Panhandle, which could bring eastern Carolina yet more rain and flooding. Thanks to human-caused climate change, these catastrophic…

The election on Nov. 6 may be the most important one of our times.

Our president has exploited the politics of division, not for the betterment of our country, but for his personal gain and power. He believes the Justice Department and our court system should always do his bidding, rather than…

The 2018 elections are fast approaching on Nov. 6.  Paula Dance, candidate for the Pitt County sheriff, certainly offers positive experiences and a dedication that is unwavering.

During her 28 year tenure in law enforcement, 26 years with Pitt County, Dance has worked to create a more unified…

New rules on the use of public spaces proposed by the Trump administration and Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke pose a grave danger to this country's most precious free speech rights and must be stopped. The public comment period for the regulations ends Oct. 15 and people around the country are…

As a 20-year citizen of the town of Grifton, I want to personally thank the staff of The Daily Reflector for being a voice for the people of Grifton as well as others in the area affected by the low-lying location in which Duke Energy chose for its electric substation.

I hope and pray with the…

This year as many voters go to the polls to elect officials, we search for criteria to validate our vote. What qualities should we value most and which candidates possess those qualities? Scripture provides timeless qualities in Deuteronomy 1:13, “Choose wise, understanding and…

Ah, the Republicans. In 1987, Ronald Reagan promptly withdrew Douglas Ginsburg’s Supreme Court nomination merely because he had smoked pot as a young man.

But no such problem for Brett Kavanaugh. Instead, our presidential “p.... grabber in chief” regaled his unhinged base by…

I just could not let the recent back-to-back letters using Christ and God references in support of Kavanaugh and the Republicans slide by.

As for Kavanaugh, he flatly stated that the devil's triangle he referred to is a drinking game. It is not, it is a three-way sex act. He said that boofing…
