A man robbed a bank located inside the Walmart on Greenville Boulevard  and made off with nearly $9,000 in cash, according to the Greenville Police Department.

The robbery took place shortly before 11:51 a.m. Sunday at Woodforest National Bank, 210 S.W. Greenville Blvd. Police are describing the robber as a black man wearing sunglasses, a black, hooded Adidas sweat shirt, dark pants and brown shoes.

A report released on Monday indicated the man stole $8,707.90. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 252-329-4300 or Pitt-Greenville CrimeStoppers at 252-758-7777.

■ 821 S. Memorial Drive, 3 a.m. May 16-10:29 a.m. May 17: one trash cart, two electric space heaters, one toolbox and one extension cord, all valued at $670, stolen from Quality Inn; investigation ongoing.

■ 600 block South Pitt Street, 11:28 a.m. May 17: one cell phone battery valued at $100 stolen from woman; investigation ongoing.

■ 100 block West Victoria Court, 8 a.m. May 15-1 p.m. May 17: one white and gold necklace with three diamonds, one 55-inch television, one 43-inch television and one indoor air conditioner, all valued at $3,300, stolen from home; investigation ongoing.

■ 3800 block East Vancroft Circle, 7:30 p.m. May 16-7:30 a.m. May 17: break-in to vehicle attempted; investigation ongoing.
