Three people have been arrested on drug charges after a package containing 4,000-5,000 Xanax tablets was intercepted in the U.S. Postal System, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported on Friday.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for 518 Lancelot St., Grimesland, as a result of the discovery and executed the warrant on Thursday along with agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a news release said.

Thomas Michael McLain, 23, and Michelle June McLain, 53, who live at the residence, and Anthony Edward Antonacci, 26, of Abbey Drive, Greenville, were arrested, the news release said.

Each was charged with conspiracy to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to a half ounce, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

They were jailed at the Pitt County Detention Center, Thomas McLain under a $2,000 bond, Michelle McLain under a $10,000 bond, and Antonacci, under an $11,000 bond.
