A Nashville man had evident injuries after his vehicle crashed into the side of a trailer being pulled by another truck that failed to yield, according to information obtained from a State Highway Patrol report.

The crash took place at 2:59 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the intersection of N.C. 222 and N.C. 33 near Falkland.

Landon Scott Dail of Tarboro was traveling north on N.C. 222 in his 2018 Ford pickup truck with a trailer attached. According to the report, he crossed in front of a 2011 Nissan passenger car being driven by Antonio Marquez Farmer of Nashville. Farmer was traveling east on N.C. 33, and his Nissan struck the trailer.

Dail’s truck was traveling 10 mph at the time of impact and Farmer’s car was traveling 45 mph. The speed limit for that stretch of road is 45 mph.

Troopers said a passenger inside Dail’s vehicle was injured and Farmer was transported to Vidant Medical Center by Falkland EMS.

Dail’s trailer sustained $1,200 in damages and Farmer’s Nissan sustained $8,000 in damages.

Dail was cited for failure to yield.

The wreck is among 21 other crashes that the State Highway Patrol investigated recently in Pitt County, according to reports available between Oct. 29 and Oct. Monday. Wrecks involving deer and other animals are not included.
