Ex-boyfriend charged with break-in, assault

A 38-year-old woman’s ex-boyfriend broke down the back door of her home to gain entry and assaulted the woman and her family at gunpoint on Sunday night, according to a case report released by the Greenville Police Department.

The incident took place between 11:10 p.m. and 11:31 p.m. in the 1300 block of Westpointe Drive, according to the report.

Four people are listed as having been present in the home at the time of the break-in. No injuries were reported. A small, black flat-screen television was found damaged on the outside porch.

George Blount, 54, was arrested and charged with assault by pointing a gun, breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, and misdemeanor larceny.

■ 305 S.E. Greenville Blvd., 11:35 a.m.-12:10 p.m. Nov. 6: five Lifeproof phone cases valued at $190 stolen from Verizon Wireless; case inactive.

■ 3500 block East 10th Street, midnight-11:25 a.m. Nov. 7: three items of identification including a Social Security card and two bank cards stolen from woman; case inactive.

■ West 14th Street, 9-9:10 a.m. Nov. 7: iPhone valued at $200 stolen from man by acquaintance; 33-year-old man arrested and charged with resisting or obstructing a public officer.

■ 851 Howell St., 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24-9:17 a.m. Nov. 7: weight scale valued at $40 stolen from Rec Center; case closed: victim refused to cooperate.

■ 3000 block Landfill Road, 6-10 p.m. Nov. 6: 1994 white Chevrolet Pickup truck stolen; investigation ongoing.

■ 500 block West 14th Avenue, 4-11:45 p.m. Nov. 6: home entered through side window; half-karat diamond ring, Toshiba laptop, LED TV, 26-inch RCA TV, and 40-inch Element TV, all valued at $2,236, stolen; investigation ongoing.

■ 1400 block Westpointe Drive, 6 p.m. Nov. 4-9 a.m. Nov. 5: break-in to vehicle reported; no items listed as stolen; case closed: leads exhausted.

■ 100 block Leanne Drive, 5 p.m. Nov. 1-9:30 a.m. Nov. 5: 2011 white Ford Econoline 100 sustained $500 in damages from forced entry; two bags of assorted tools and drills valued at $4,100 stolen; investigation ongoing.

■ 1000 block Fairfax Avenue, 9-9:32 p.m. Nov. 3: front door of home broken by ex-boyfriend to gain entry; 41-year-old man arrested and charged with two counts each of breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, protective order violation and interfering with emergency communications.

■ 3428 S. Memorial Drive, 7:27-9:38 p.m. Nov. 7: two pairs of grey and white New Balance shoes valued at $278.18 stolen from Academy Sports; 43-year-old man arrested and charged with two counts of habitual larceny.

Assaults

■ 500 block Mckinley Avenue, 3:15-3:48 a.m. Nov. 4: 23-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend at boyfriend’s home; minor injuries reported; 22-year-old man arrested and charged with assault on a female.

■ 500 block Cotanche Street, 11-11:15 a.m. Nov. 3: 25-year-old man assaulted at bar; moderate injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

Property Damage

■ 600 block Dickinson Avenue, 11:20-11:30 p.m. Nov. 2: five grate window coverings sustained $500 in damages; investigation ongoing.

■ 2200 block Bellamy Circle, 3 p.m. Nov. 6-8:30 a.m. Nov. 7: 2006 maroon Honda Accord sustained $1,000 in damages; case inactive.
