WILSON — Two teens who were arrested in the shooting death of 16-year-old Luis Flores-Bravo now face charges in an unrelated armed robbery.

The latest charges against 18-year-old Keydrick R. Parker and 16-year-old Shaiheim R. Murray stem from a July 19 robbery on Cameron Road in Wilson — the day before Flores-Bravo was gunned down at a local convenience store.

Murray and Parker are charged with armed robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle in connection to the Cameron Road incident, Wilson police said.

Both teens are already in jail under no bond on first-degree murder and attempted robbery charges.

On July 19, police were dispatched to a 10:05 p.m. call to the 2200 block of Cameron Road. Officials spoke to a 62-year-old man, who said he was robbed by three perpetrators, one of whom was armed with a gun, according to police.

The robbers stole the man’s personal items before stealing his car — a red 2008 Infinity G35, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud. The man was not injured during the robbery, but the subjects fled the area, according to police.

The following day — July 20 — police found the man’s vehicle abandoned in the 1700 block of Augusta Circle at 11:32 a.m., officials said.

Shooting death

About 10 hours later, police responded to a shooting at the Speedway on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. That’s when they found Flores-Bravo suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1700 block of Freeman Street. Attempts to revive the teen were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Flores-Bravo’s family has said the teen was an innocent bystander who would often walk to the store to buy a snack or soda and return to his Freeman Street home where he lived with his parents.

Flores-Bravo, a student at Beddingfield High School and Junior ROTC cadet, also left behind a 1-year-old daughter.

A week ago, police announced six arrests in the teen’s killing, which included Parker and Murray.

Others charged in Flores-Bravo’s death are 17-year-old Corey Williams Jr., 18-year-olds Shyheim Smiles and Jahkil Jones; and a 15-year-old who was taken to the Pitt County Juvenile Detention Center.

They face one count each of first-degree murder and attempted robbery.
